The "Christie" Collection...Inspired by Grace

I recently designed a collection of luxury cabinet hardware for entry into Baldwin Hardware’s design competition.
The Christie Luxury Cabinet Collection was inspired by my great grandmother’s Art Deco jewelry.  I have always loved the architecture of the 20’s and 30’s, and the jewelry of that era adopted the same geometric lines and bold symmetry.  Not surprisingly, both the elegance and drama of that period are still relevant today and suit the rectilinear design of the post-modern era.

And if you plan to attend the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas this month, you might have the chance to see a 3-D prototype of my designs!  From the entries received, Baldwin will select two to three finalists whose designs will be displayed at KBIS, April 26-28, and voting for the winner will be open to all KBIS attendees.  So if you are at the Kitchen and Bath Show, please vote for my Art Deco-inspired designs, the "Christie Collection" which pays tribute to both the bold style of the period, and my lovely great grandmother.

By the way, my great grandmother’s name was Grace, and despite her age--just like Art Deco design--her style and charm was timeless.  I hope someday soon my designs will be able to “grace” many homes, the same way my grandmother graced many lives.
